Listening

Do you only ever hear the same voices in staff meetings?

Would you like to know what all staff really think and feel?

Listening is a fundamental leadership skill that every member of staff needs in their tool kit.

Whether getting the best out of children or adults the ability to hear what an individual is saying through verbal and none verbal cues makes a huge difference to your effectiveness to make a difference to your school. Staff, senior leadership/management and governors meetings will all benefit from allocating just 15 minutes to giving everyone in the room the opportunity to speak and listen, no matter how many people are involved.

Above all this exercise allows everyone to feel that their opinions are valued and raises their confidence to make their voice heard and allows leaders to really hear what other adults think and feel about an issue, idea or proposal in an open and honest forum.
